Accessibility Statement

On this website

  • Contrast toggle — switches to a pure white background and near-black text with stronger accent colors, for anyone who needs more contrast to read comfortably.
  • Calmer colors toggle — mutes the accent colors further, independent of the contrast setting, for anyone who finds the default palette too visually active. These two toggles are separate on purpose: more contrast and less visual intensity aren't the same need, and don't always come from the same person.
  • Dyslexia-friendly font toggle and a larger text toggle, both independent of the above.
  • Every interactive element has a visible focus outline for keyboard navigation — nothing here relies on a mouse.
  • Motion is minimal by default, and anything animated respects your operating system's "reduce motion" setting automatically.
  • Body text uses Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed by the Braille Institute for readers with low vision.

In classes

  • No hands-on physical adjustments without asking first — every time, not just the first class.
  • No requirement for eye contact, with the instructor or anyone else.
  • Stimming, moving between poses at your own pace, or resting instead of participating in a given pose are all completely normal parts of class, not exceptions granted case by case.
  • Instructions are given both verbally and visually, since "watch and copy" isn't how everyone best takes in movement instruction.
  • You can leave the room at any point without needing to explain why.
  • Lighting is kept soft where the space allows it, and you'll get a heads-up before anything in the room changes unexpectedly (music starting, lights adjusting, etc).

What we're continuing to build out

Some specifics are still being worked out in practice rather than fully documented here yet — things like video captioning, sensory needs and accommodations for in-person spaces, and dedicated quiet-space availability. If any of those matter to you, ask directly on the Contact page and you'll get a real, current answer rather than a guess.

Something not working for you?

If any part of this site or a class isn't accessible in the way it should be, that's useful to know about — not just as a general complaint, but as a real bug to fix. Reach out via the Contact page, or mention it directly in the access-notes field on the Classes & Schedule inquiry form.
